High resistance meter is the main tool to check the insulation resistance between the insulated conductors of motors, electrical appliances and other equipment and distribution lines. Although the reading of the high-resistance meter has nothing to do with the DC power supply voltage, the resistance value of the insulating material is related to the magnitude of the voltage applied during the test, so pay attention to its DC power supply voltage and measurement range when selecting high-resistance timing. The DC voltage of the high resistance meter is 500V, 1000V, 2500V, 5000V and so on. The choice of voltage value is related to the rated use voltage of electrical equipment and should comply with the relevant regulations.
When selecting the measurement range, the value of the insulation resistance to be measured should be located on the part where the data can be easily read on the dial to reduce the reading error. When measuring the insulation resistance with a high-resistance meter, in order to eliminate the influence of the charging current of the test sample on the reading, it is generally necessary to read after 1 minute of pressurization. For large-capacitance test products, the pressurization time is longer.
